You stood in front of an old looking house; it was two stories and was all white with a large front porch and a white picket, let's not forget about the fairly large amount of yard there was. You smiled at it as memories flooded your mind. You would miss them so.

[Series of Sappy Flashback!]

You were playing in the yard as usual on the swing set that your parents had built you for your sixth birthday. You could see a moving truck pull up at the house next door, you watched as some of the stuff was taken out of the back and hauled in to the house. Shortly after a pale blue car pull up into the drive way. You saw five people emerge from the car, one looked like an adult while the other three looked like teenagers. The fifth was a small little boy who didn't really look like he fit in that family. All the other boys had variations of red hair, the only one who looked close to looking like the boy was one with blondish ash like hair with still tints of red. The boy himself had bright blonde hair, and brushy eyebrows from what you could see from your distance. You longed to go over and greet him but they all shortly went inside the house. You frowned and sighed, getting up from the swing you walked inside.

A day or so later you were going to play out in your back yard; you could see the boy from your side of the picket fence. He was wearing a black cloak like thing and he seemed to be talking to something that wasn't really there. You walked over to the fence and watched him, smiling slightly. "H-Hello!" You shouted and waved to him. He jumped up and turned to you frightened by your sudden appearance. "W-who are you?" He asked still startled. "I'm (f/n). I live next to you." You say simply. The boy's expression softened and it changed from frightened to curious. "I'm Arthur." He tells you with a slight smile. "Hi Arthur, so what are you doing?" You ask him with a smile. Arthur glances at the place where he was apparently talking to something. "I was talking to my friends." He said honestly. "Can you see them?" He asked with a hopeful smile. A frown came across your face. "No I can't….. I'm sorry." You tell him and watch as the disappointment spreads. "Oh." He replies all hope fading. "B-but I want to!" You pipe up quickly. "I want to see them…… maybe…. Maybe if you tell me about them I'll be able to see them." You smile and watch as the disappointment washes away and leaves an excited and bright expression. "Alright!" He said, his emerald green eyes sparkling bright. But before he could say anything a man's voice called to him, it had a slight accent to it. Arthur frowned and looked at the house and then back to you. "Some other time, alright?" He smiled again and ran off inside, his cloak blowing in the wind. You watched him and smiled.

A few days passed before you saw your friend again, you both smiled and laid out blankets in front of the fence and sat down on them as Arthur began to explain his friends to you and try to introduce you to them. He also talked about himself in the process. You soon learned that he lived with his four older brothers. The one who was closets in age to Arthur was Dylan, the one with the blonde ash hair with the reddish tint. Arthur said that he was always cheery and he loved sheep. He also said that Dylan taught him how to shoot a bow and arrow, which you though were the coolest thing ever. Arthur then started to explain his other brothers. The twins Cailean and Timothy, they were trouble makers and they often bullied poor Arthur, like the rest of his brothers. But these two and Arthur were the only ones that could actually see and talk to the leprechaun, you were slightly jealous that you couldn't see and walk to cool creatures like that. His oldest brother was Allistor, although he was often called Scottie. Arthur said that he was short tempered and that he often smoked cigarettes or cigars. You were happy to be learning about your new best friend, although you had realized that his brothers were big jerks. Like Arthur and his brothers though you soon began to see all the creatures that Arthur had been explaining to you.

[Few years later]

Years passed by and soon you both were in high school. Of course you both were in separate clichés and all, you being pretty popular and outgoing with others while Arthur was more reserved and just tried not to draw attention to him. You both were very close to one another, soon though as you entered you junior year Arthur began to ignore and avoid you. Whenever you did talk to him or see him all he would do is do everything in his power to avoid eye contact and make up excuses to leave.  You often walked over to his house to try and see what was wrong with him, but all his brothers always told you that he didn't want any visitors. You always remembered seeing a bit of sympathy in their eyes when your smile disappeared and your eyes fought back tears. Your best friend in the whole world didn't want to see you, and you had no idea why.

Today was a Saturday and you remembered that ever Saturday you and Arthur use to always wake up early and go take a walk around the neighborhood and talk to the mythical creatures. You missed that. So you got up and got dressed and marched on over to Arthur's determined to get him out.  Upon arriving you had realized this was the sixth time this week you had stopped by the house. Yesterday you felt down and you didn't really want to feel any level of disappointment when one of the Kirkland brothers told you Arthur didn't want to see anyone. Today though you were determined to see him. You walked up to the door and knocked on the door.  Shortly after you saw Dylan open the door, he stopped smiling when he saw it was you. "I'm sorry (f/n). Arthur doesn't want to see anyone today either." He said, already preparing himself for the horrible look that would settle on your face. Your smile disappeared and you sighed, you should of expected this. An idea suddenly struck you and you smiled slightly. "Well would it be okay if I could come in and hang out with you and the twins or something?" You ask him. Dylan had some slight hesitation as he thought about it. "I'm not sure." He said honestly. "Please Dylan?" You said pleadingly. "I have nothing else to do today and I was really looking forward to hanging out with someone, instead of staying cooped up inside all day." Dylan sighed and opened the door a little wider so you could step inside. "Fine but just for a little bit." You eagerly entered the house.

The smell of the house wasn't that pleasant, just because the Kirklands couldn't cook anything that smelled or even looked edible. You were pretty sure that all three of them could burn water without even trying. "I see you guys have been cooking." You say to Dylan with a smile upon your face. Dylan smiled a bit. "Yeah, smells great right?" He asked proudly, that means he must of cooked. The sad fact about all five of the brothers is that they all hated one another's cooking, but they thought that their own cooking was the best. The same thing went with Arthur. He thought his brother's couldn't cook to save their lives but he thought that his cooking was the best. You didn't have the heart to break it to any of the brothers that their food sucked. "Um, yeah smells amazing." You lied through your teeth and smiled. "Hey their (f/n)!" Timothy said as he walked toward you, Cailean following. "We thought that we heard your voice." Cailean said to you. "Hey guys." You smiled. "I've decided to grace you with my presence and hang out today!" You said jokingly narcissistic. The twins shared a laugh at that, you glanced to the side and saw Scottie walking down the stairs. "Hello (f/n)." He greeted slightly sleepily. "Hey Scottie! I came by to visit you all!" You said with a smile. "So I've heard." He said and looked over at Dylan. "Make some tea." He told him, Dylan nodded and walked into the kitchen. The one thing all the boys could make was tea, but Arthur made the best cup of tea you ever did taste. "Cailean, Timothy. Let's all go sit in the living room." He said walked off. Cailean and Timothy nodded and started walking, you in between them. "We haven't seen you for quite a while." Cailean said smiling. "Yeah kind of nice having someone that doesn't annoy you all day over." Timothy said and eyed his brother playfully on the word annoying. "Oh your one to talk." Cailean said, and the bickering began. The twins were surprisingly easy to tell apart. Timothy's hair was parted in the middle and looked like a paler version of Scottie's hair, while Cailean's hair was more like Arthur's only redder and darker.

You three finally made it to the living room and sat down. You sat on a small love seat sofa, while the twins took the larger one and Scottie sat in a chair of his own. Dylan soon entered with the tea and handed you a cup, he let his brother's take their own and he sat next to the twins on the larger couch. Scottie lit a cigar and all of you amerced yourselves in conversation. What seemed like a minute or so later an hour had already passed. You missed hanging out with the Kirkland brothers, they were a lot of fun to talk to and their bickering with one another was fun to watch. You also think that the brothers enjoy your company as well because they always tell you that Scottie doesn't yell at them as much as when you, or anyone else for that matter isn't there visiting. While you watched the twins arm wrestle, a challenge initiated by Dylan to see which twin was stronger you heard a familiar voice from the side. "Bloody hell is she doing here!?" You quickly turned to see Arthur standing there completely shocked and pissed. "Arthur!" You said slightly happy and worried. You put your cup down that once held tea, on the coffee table. "I thought I told you to keep her out!" Arthur said completely ignoring you and glaring at his brothers. "Arthur…." You said your smiling disappearing. It was true he just didn't want to see you, he really just didn't want to see you and you alone. "She is our friend too you know." Dylan said with a sigh as he looked at his younger brother. "Arthur you really have to stop hiding from your problems. Coward." Scottie said from his place in his chair, puffs of smoke coming from his mouth as he smoked yet another cigar, his brothers really must stress him out.

His brothers were just provoking him more and more. "What part of I don't want her here don't you four get?!" Arthur shouted, you fought back the tears as best as you could but you couldn't keep them from escaping. "Why don't you want to be my friend?" You managed to choke out and shout to Arthur. "If I did or said something wrong then I'm sorry! Just please stop hating me!" You could help but shout through your tears. Arthur looked at you with sad eyes as he watched you cry, this was the first time he actually made eye contact with you in a very long while. "(f/n)…. I…" You quickly ran pass him and out of the house, you could hear the bickering continue. You also caught Timothy say something involving the word 'love' before you raced out of the house and ran to yours.

Over the next few days you had come down with what you told your mom was bad stomach flu and you begged her to let you stay home. She complied and let you miss out on school. You were to sad and hurt to do anything at this point, you didn't understand exactly why either. You had lost friends before, but the thought of losing Arthur and never seeing him again hurt more than anything else in the world. The worst thing of all is that you had begun to stop seeing the mythical creatures, you didn't mean to its just that you wanted to stop from hurting and by forgetting about somethings about Arthur you started to lessen the hurt, but then you began to feel empty. This was your fourth day staying home from school and you just wanted to see Arthur again and have everything be like it used to, but that seemed impossible now. As you lay in bed you heard a knock on your bedroom window. You looked and saw the familiar flop of bright blonde hair, emerald green eyes, and bushy eyebrows that your heart had now begun to recognize as the source of your pain. You slowly got up and opened your window. "What are you doing here?" You asked him as he stepped in off the balcony and into your room. "I came to see you." He said avoiding eye contact.  You frowned and starred at the ground. "Well you saw me….. Now you can go." You tell him, feeling tears fight to run free. "(f/n)…… I….I…." He stuttered and balled his hands into fist and closed his eyes. "I love you." He said and slowly opened his eyes to see your reaction. You stood shocked by what you has just heard and your stared at your bushy eyebrow friend. "You…. Love me?" You ask wanting clarification desperately. "Yes….. I love you…. I was scared that you didn't feel the same and that you'd leave me if you knew." Arthur said and hung his head in shame. "I….I also don't want to be friends anymore." He added. Your eyes widened in shock and the tears started to pour out automatically. "You tell me you love me and then you say you don't want to be friends anymore?  Who says that to someone?!" You shout at him and turn to run out of your room. Arthur just grabs you by your wrist and stops you. "No that's not what I meant."  He said and pulled you into a hug. "I don't want to be friends, I want to be more." He said to you as he held you. You wrapped your arms around him and held him close. "(f/n), will you be my girlfriend?" He asks you. You nod and smile. "Of course I will you idiot!" You say to him and wrap your arms around his neck and his him. Taken by surprise Arthur soon kisses back and keeps you held close.

[Present day!]

You let out a sigh as you starred at it, all the happy and sad memories feeling as if they had happened just yesterday when they happened almost a year ago. "Love?" You turned to see Arthur standing behind you with a smile; he had finished loading all of the bags into the car. Your parents stood by the car after helping and smiled at the two of you, tears in your mother's eyes. "I can't believe my baby girl is off to college!" She said and engulfed you in a hug. You giggled and hugged your mother back. "Don't cry mom, I'll be home on the holidays and on breaks." You promise her. Arthur smiled as he watched the loving display of family affection. Arthur's brothers had gone off to college too, the only one who didn't was his oldest brother, Scottie. They had said their goodbyes before Arthur had left to walk over and help load up the car. "You two drive safely!" You mother said as you and Arthur began to get in the car. "See you this summer for the wedding!" Your father said with a wave. You waved back as you and Arthur drove off. You smiled as you caught a glimpse of Scottie watching through the window as you drove by, you looked at Arthur who then glanced at you and took your hand. The glimmer of the ring on your finger made you smile even more,  who could of thought that just last year when you two were on the verge of breaking off your friendship that you would be married my the summer of next year. You sighed  and closed your eyes as both you and Arthur drove to the apartment that was by your guy's college. Silently drifting off to sleep.
